The Dark Season

Leaves fall as cold winds blow
Colors fade under blankets of snow
This season now on us seems dark and long
When will we hear the bird’s sweet song?
What a lonely time this seems to have been
Will we ever see life again?
When it is time and not by our hand,
Life and color return to the land
Life had continued, hidden from view
Secretly making all things new
On us the sun it’s warmth now casts
It’s finally over, the dark season is passed
